Alpacas make me happy — they’re just so amusing, and interesting. And they look as if Dr Suess drew them into creation. Recently the alpacas on North Road were sheared, and now they look even funnier than usual.

Kathy Ramsey sent this along for us. It’s an artist’s rendering (drawn by Derrill Shuttleworth) of a painted pole. This seems to be the design intended for the corner of Taylor Bay Road and North Road. What do you think of it? Would you like to see a pole painted like the one shown below?

Sylvie bicycled around Gabriola yesterday, in memory of her husband, Robert Milman. (See the Gabriola Sounder article about her ride for details.) This sign appeared on a North Road tree. I hope Sylvie saw it!

Well, look at that. Somebody’s cut down a bunch of broom, and has left a pile of branches on Tait Road, just near North Road. Was it you, GaLLT? Or was it some independent do-gooder? It’s always nice to see broom plants vanish from a place they had previously dominated.

If you’ve got a don’t do that! sign on Gabriola, chances are that somebody’s going to rip that sign down and get rid of it for you. This sign has been discarded at the side of North Road in the Tunnel. Where did it come from?
