When there’s news about Gabriola or a related topic, I sometimes link to a related story on a news website. This is handy for blog readers, who can click a link and then go read the full article. It’s good for the news organizations, too: they get readers who might not otherwise see their content.

The problem is that news sites often don’t leave their own articles on their own websites. Rather than leaving archived content in place, they remove it after a few weeks or months. I think that’s stupid and short-sighted, but oh well.
