Today I saw a man picking salal in the middle of the forest, and have figured out that he’s driving a dark blue or black Toyota truck. He was here yesterday, too, and probably comes over every day.

If you happen to be the sort of person who is bothered about the harvesting and theft of salal in our woods, you might watch for such a vehicle in the ferry line-up (he’ll take the salal back to Nanaimo to sell). It’s only if salal thieves are caught with salal that any action can be taken.
