Line painting work at Descanso Bay
Do you ever leave your car overnight at the Descanso Bay ferry terminal? You’d best not do that on August 16th, 22nd, or 23rd, because BC Ferries will be painting lines in the lot that night, and they’ll tow any cars that are in the way.
The official notice from BC Ferries:
NANAIMO HARBOUR / GABRIOLA ISLAND
LINE PAINTING WORK OVER NIGHT
August 16, 22, 23 2012
(WORK SUBJECT TO WEATHER)Please be advised that on the night of August 16, 2012, after the last departure from Nanaimo Harbour terminal, line painting of the vehicle holding compound will commence and continue into the early morning.
Line painting at Gabriola Island’s Descanso Bay terminal will occur on the nights of August 22 and 23, 2012 after the Quinsam has secured in dock for the night.
Customers are advised that due to the work being done at the Gabriola Island terminal, the parking lot will be closed over night. Any vehicles remaining in the parking when work commences each night will be towed, at the owner’s expense, to the Gabriola Towing compound which is approximately 1 kilometer from the terminal. Reminder notices will be posted prior to the commencement of this project both aboard the Quinsam and at the Gabriola Island terminal.
We apologize for any inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience and understanding while we make further improvements to our terminals.
