Gabriola’s new charity shop
Have you noticed what’s popped up on North Road across from Folklife Village? This: The GABE Shop. It’s in the space formerly occupied by the Roxy, just next to Robert’s Place.
Coastwoman says the Gabe Shop is a thrift shop that raises funds on behalf of the Gabriola Health Care Auxiliary.
The sign on the window for potential donors indicates that this shop wants your new or nearly new household items, small furniture, clothing, jewelry, books, toys…

Robert’s Place will be open at 7 am on Sat, July 21st for the grand opening of the GABE Shop. Have an early-bird breakfast (7-8:30 am) and receive a discount of 10% off our bargain prices!
They also seem to be selling ice cream.
After all the work that the Gabriola Health Care Auxiliary did in raising money for the new medical clinic, I’m stunned that they have energy and volunteers left for this.
