Organizing help for sick and injured folks
Do you help care for somebody who’s ill or injured? If it’s a pain to co-ordinate a group of people who’ve volunteered to help, you might consider an online tool to make things easier. I blogged about one option a couple of years ago (Gabriola, this will help you help your neighbours), and now there are more.
A NYT article, Managing Care Online, explains how a web service can help co-ordinate helpers, and gives the usual sort of examples. The websites they mention are Lotsa Helping Hands, Saturning, and CareZone.

I’m going to pass this along to an off-island friend. Her elderly parents have been independent until very recently, mainly because her father has been in good health and very active, but now he is on chemo so they need more support. Since she and her siblings live at least several hours drive away, we were brainstorming today ways that they could line up appropriate support for their parents, but it sounds like it’s going to be piecemeal. Something like this might be useful for them.
