Who chews beer cans? Bear?
We seem to have some booze-loving animal on Gabriola, and I’m wondering if it’s a bear or some other creature. What’s your guess?
This is one of many, many beer cans tossed aside in the forest. (Some have been re-born as trailmarkers.) I’m guessing it had a bit of beer left inside, hmmm? And somebody just had to get the last drops.
There were several similarly-chewed cans, so the beer must have been tasty enough to justify the crunching.

Oh good. It’s not enough to just have a bear to steal honey and birdfeeders. We’ll have a drunken bear lumbering around belching and scratching itself and mugging summer visitors for their booze.

skadhu – that could save on policing costs, though, right? Instead of having RCMP down at the beach taking booze away from tourists, the bears could do it. :-)

Maybe it’s on Gabriola looking to get away from the unsavoury lifestyle of the bears where it came from? Trying to kick the habit and whatnot. You should consider making a support for the bear — “Hi, my name’s Smokey. I’m, uh, a Bruins fan. I’ve been sober for three weeks, just taking it a day at a time…”
