Thanks to all of you who post comments here. I love reading what you have to say, and think that the comments you post are the best part of the site.
For all those who’ve said “thanks to Gabriolan for hosting the election discussion” or some such – you’re very welcome. And I’m surprised.
I wasn’t expecting that huge discussion, you know. I posted a few casual observations about the Gabriola election campaign, and didn’t expect more than a few comments, if that. But then it seemed that the whole world arrived, and with plenty to say. That one blog post has 108 comments at the moment, and what a variety of things you said! Anything that was civil got posted, and only a few extremely rude comments were not. (And commenters were invited to re-phrase without nasty insults and re-submit. You know you can say anything here, right? As long as it’s civil.)
Anyway. Seeing the discussion reel along was much fun, and your comments gave us all plenty to consider.
If you ever need another discussion on a particular topic, send me a note. I’ll publish a blog post on that topic so that you can have a place specially for discussing that thing.

thanks …it was fun and I was hoping you would offer that opportunity for gabriolans to discuss future topics:)

Many thanks for facilitating some great discussions, and thanks to everyone who weighed in so thoughtfully. I learned a lot. Now, how to carry this good experience forward, so trustees can get islanders’ views this way, and we can make it accessible to those without computers….
