Most people on Gabriola know that the Lulu Performing Arts has launched a beer for Gabriola: Lulu’s Lager. It’s a fundraising thing. Hurrah to Lulu for creativity and beer, that’s what I always say.

Matt Braun, a Philadelphia-based designer and DJ, has created a musical kit for beer drinkers. Called Tuned Pale Ale, the kit contains 6 bottles packed in a wooden holder that can double up as a drum instrument. Printed notes on the side of the bottle provide a reference for using it as a wind instrument, and ridges along the side allow it to also be played as a percussion instrument.

Braun says that his creation aims to promote the musical qualities of beer bottles and encourage drinkers to experience their sense of rhythm. [continue, see photos]
