Some Gulf Islanders protest against Islands Trust
From the Victoria Times Colonist: Hundreds decry Gulf Islands governance.
A Sunday afternoon protest on Saltspring Island over governance of the Gulf Islands drew more than 300 people to Centennial Park in Ganges, protest organizers estimated.
Given that it was cloudy and threatening to rain, we were quite surprised that many people came out, said Kimberly Linegar, spokeswoman for Islanders for Self-Government. People attended from several Gulf Islands, including Galiano, Hornby, Denman, Mayne, Pender and Gabriola.

Islanders for Self-Government seems to be all about Saltspring, so it’s curious that folks from Gabriola would travel to attend that rally. The group behind the rally seems to have the same aims as Gulf Islands Citizens Council, though, and we know one Gabriolan supports the petition that the Gulf Islands Citizens Council has written.
