Gabriola fish
If my dog could tell you what she likes about living on Gabriola, I bet she’d include the fishing: she likes to catch her own fish. This is what she caught today.

Um, the kind the dog catches? Sorry I don’t know what sort of fish this is, Karen. Perhaps somebody else will stop in and tell us.

I’ts hard to tell because it’s upside down. But from the pictures I’ve seen it has the look of a flying fish. Did it have fins near the tail that fanned out. It has the long torpedo shape of a flying fish and the fins near the head are about the the right size of a flying fish. It’s also hard to tell just how large or small your fish is by this photo. Flying fish can reach up to 18in long.

Some kind of rockfish, I think.

I’ll go with Ling Cod… though I really don’t know. The fins and such look like it might be.

Specialk- Cod is what my husband said also. And you guys are most likely right. Flying fish was an off the wall guess.

I agree – Ling Cod. They’re actually pretty interesting fish. As a scuba diver I enjoy their antics.
