Backyard bunnies for food?
From good.is: Backyard Bunnies Are the New Urban Chickens.
By now we all know that eating a lot of meat—especially factory-farmed meat—isn’t very good for the planet. Fortunately for meat eaters, some meats are more sustainable than others. And as it turns out, rabbit is one of the healthiest, leanest, and most environmentally friendly meats you can eat. [continue]

As a vegetarian, and a bunny fan, I can’t fathom doing this. If you’re interested, I wrote a short article on the ecological footprint of diet. It can be found at http://themarknews.com/articles/108-put-your-planet-where-your-mouth-is

Thanks, Michael. I read books like Diet for a Small Planet and Diet for a New America: How Your Food Choices Affect Your Health, Happiness and the Future Of Life on Earth some years ago. They, like your article, give readers much to consider when it comes to how one’s dietary choices affect the earth.
The points you make have been made by promoters of the vegetarian diet for decades now.
There is a different perspective on this, and I think it makes more sense than what you (and the authors whose books I mentioned above) advocate. If you’re interested, read The Vegetarian Myth for more information. It’s an excellent book, and one I recommend to anybody who both eats and thinks.
