Thanks, Gabriola trail angels
A few weeks ago a big old alder tree toppled over in the Gabriola woods. It didn’t fall across the path, but along the path, which is much worse: the trunk took up the entire path, and branches sticking out all over the place made the path unusable. We had to bushcrash our way around the fallen tree.
Now this is on an obscure trail few people know about, so almost nobody walks there. In years of hiking this section of forest, I’ve only seen a handful of people there. Ever.
But in the last few days a very strong somebody has come along, broken off all the branches, and rolled the tree trunk out of the way. Other fallen wood had to be moved as well in order to make room for the tree trunk, so it’s more work than you might guess from the photo here. Amazing, isn’t it?
Thank you, Gabriola trail angels.
