What’s the Gabriola connection?
Here’s a building on the Nanaimo waterfront. Can you guess what its connection to Gabriola is?
Update: the answer is here.

Isn’t this the Marine Research Center? But haven’t a clue what the connection is. Are they doing a special study of our shore lines?

I know one connection, is this the one you’re “fishing” for? (pun intended) The first director of the Pacific Biological Station was also an entomologist who described and named the Gabriola moth, 100 or so years ago.
