Gabriola sweet peaGabriola neighbours and those of you who’ve been reading this blog for a while might remember that I was rather too late this year when I finally got around to planting sweet peas. But you know? We’ve had gorgeous, fragrant, delightful sweet peas all summer long. So there!

I think the moral of this story is to ignore the pessimistic garden experts and plant anyway, even if you’re late for some plant’s official start date.

That said, my Gabriola garlic will go into the ground on October 15th, which is supposed to be the perfect date. For once I’ll be on schedule.
