Gabriola gnomes
We have gnomes in the Gabriola woods, and wasn’t I surprised to find that out yesterday morning! I’ve got the photos to prove it, and I’ll even tell you where they live so you can go see for yourselves.
They’re in the Elder Cedar (S’ul-hween X’pey) Nature Reserve. If you park at the entrance on North Road near Degnan Road and head in from there, take the left branch of the short circle route. The gnomes are a little past the watering hole, on the right side of the trail. Note: these are tiny gnomes. They’re only a couple of inches tall.
Regular readers might remember that I found Christmas ornaments decorating part of the woods near this spot last winter. Ornaments, gnomes… whatever next?
(Update, March 6th, 2010: the gnomes have vanished. I’ve no idea who took them or why.)
Here are photos of a few more of the gnomes:

There are many more in the forest!
