Gabriola Farmers Market update
I did get myself to the Farmers Market on Saturday, even though that meant no sleeping in. There were lots of interesting things, but — horror! — no more garibaldi cookies, as Slow Rise doesn’t make them anymore. Argh. Such heartbreak!
Anyway, if you’re wondering just what’s for sale at the market these days, you might check out the 20 or so photos of the Gabriola Farmers Market I took on Saturday for the Gabriola Events website.

Hey…I hope you photographed the traffic/parking problems caused by the weekly market. When the full summer ferries unload on Saturday morning, the traffic up that hill and at our main intersection is chaotic – and dangerous – as tourists on foot and in their vehicles clash with hordes of marketeers. Illegal parking along the ferry hill reduce the traffic to one lane in places – with shoppers opening doors and wandering like sheep across the road. I give that market a wide berth all summer.

I didn’t photograph the traffic, Rick, as I figure everybody’s seen it while driving by. How would you fix the situation?
