Dear Gabriola charities,

I’d give you a lot more money if I could donate online.

Imagine me, at the end of last December, wanting to donate in a hurry before the end of the year. Yipes! No time to mail a cheque… and besides, I haven’t written a cheque in ages, since I pay all my bills online. I don’t even have a cheque book for my current bank account.

So what did I do with that 2008 year-end donation money? I googled around and found some Canadian charities that do accept online donations. I picked one of those, and gave the whole sum to them.

I would have liked to have given that money to a Gabriola charity, but none of the ones I thought of checking had a website with an online donation option.

If you’re involved with a Gabriola charity, why not give me a way to donate online, through your website?
