Have you written your letter to the CRTC in support of Radio Gabriola’s application? No? You’d better do it soon if you want your letter to count — the CRTC has to receive your note by March 5th.

I tried to use the CRTC website to submit my letter, but it was hopeless. I don’t know who they’ve got running their website, but sheesh! You and I could do better on triple doses of vodka. So really, you’re better off sending your letter by mail. (Or fax it to 819-994-0218.) Here are the rules and all the details you need:

Send your letter to the Secretary General
Secretary General
CRTC
Ottawa, Ontario
K1A 0N2
Number your paragraphs.
(I can’t believe they really say this, either.)
Only submit once
Send your note by only one of these methods: by mail, by fax, or through the CRTC website.
Say why you support Radio Gabriola Society’s application
They want your own words, not some copy and paste thing from your neighbour.
Include one of these statements
In the first or last paragraph of your letter, you must include one of these statements:
I request to appear at the public hearing.
or
I do not want to appear at the public hearing.
Send a copy of your letter to Radio Gabriola
Their address is:
#9 – 575 North Road
Gabriola Island, British Columbia
V0R 1X0
Fax: 250-247-9852
E-Mail: gabriolaradio@shaw.ca
Mention that you are sending a copy to the Gabriola Radio Society.
(Yup, they really ask for this.)

So your letter should look something like this:

(your address here)
Gabriola Island, BC
V0R 1X0

February 23rd, 2009

Secretary General
CRTC
Ottawa, Ontario
