Dear Gabriola musicians
Dear Gabriola musicians,
I see your concerts advertised now and again, and am often tempted to buy tickets and go. But if all I know about you is your names, how will I know if I like your style of music? I’d be more likely to go to that concert of yours if you’d give me a small preview — just a song or two, and maybe some information about you — ahead of time.
The web is so handy for this. And so, dear musicians, I beg you to put a sample of your music on the web for me to find. If you do that I promise to go and listen to your sound samples, and I might blog about your upcoming events, too. I might even go!
Want to see how other Gabriola musicians are using the web? Check out Victor Anthony’s website, or the Kerplunks’ site, or any of these Gabriola musicians’ websites.
You might start by putting a few songs of yours on YouTube, and by creating a weblog of your own. It’s pretty easy. (I might even help you get started with blogging, if you need any help.)
Your potential audience thanks you.

Greetings and thanks for the plug. If any musicians are reading this, I built my website myself in about an hour using a template (no HTML required) from GoDaddy. The whole thing came in under $100 including registering the domain name.

Great to know there are so many musician/artists on the island, but what about Nathan Tinkham?!
A glaring oversight — you can visit his site at http://www.island.net/~nathan/ or see him here in the Yukon for most of the summer, which we always love.

Thanks, Mark! I’ve added a link to Nathan’s website on the Gabriola musicians page.
